In this hardsh!p situation going on in our country, here are steps to take and keep yourself hydrated, remain strong and healthy

SN. Taningbola GoodJohn O., a 400-level student of Harvard College of Science, Business and Management studies, explained how Nigerians can Be more health and safety conscious.
According to him “We are not yet in post-pandemic era, The Coronavirus is still very much here and mutating, as we have learnt, in the UK, US, and even Nigeria. We must remain ever vigilant and very careful”.
“We are in a country where public healthcare infrastructure is nothing to write home compared to what obtains in the developed world, it would be suicidal or murderous not to have “something kept aside” for medical emergencies. Aside from medical emergencies, we must now develop the habit or culture of keeping a healthy First Aid Box at home with basic Over The Counter (O.T.C), medicines
He explained further on Developing healthy habits “The saying health is wealth could not have been any truer than now. Aside from forming the habit of exercising your mind and body regularly, you should be more careful of what you eat. This is especially so for those who work from home and do not move around frequently during the day. There is a report which suggests a rise in cases of Hypertension, Diabetes, and even unwanted pregnancies all associated with idleness”.
Health Tips to follow.
He said “Staying hydrated: drinking enough water is important for many reasons. It helps to regulate your body temperature, flush out toxins, and keep your skin healthy. Aim for 8 glasses of water per day, or more if you’re exercising or spending time in the sun”.
“Exercise: Even just 30 minutes of exercise per day can make a big difference in your overall health. It can reduce your risk of chronic diseases, improve your mood, and help you sleep better. Exercise doesn’t have to be boring either, find an activity that you enjoy and make”.
“Eating plenty of fruits and veggies: Fruits and veggies are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are essential for your health. They can also help you feel full and satisfied, which can prevent overeating. To make it easy to get your daily dose of fruits and veggies, try adding them to every meal. For breakfast, add berries to your oatmeal or top your toast with avocado. For lunch, pack a salad full of veggies. And for dinner, load up your plate with veggies and a side of fruit”.
“Enough sleep: Getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night is crucial for your overall health. It helps to reduce stress, improve concentration, and boost your immune system. To make sure you’re getting enough sleep, try going to bed and waking up at the same time each day. Create a relaxing bedtime routine by dimming the lights and turning off screens an hour before bedtime. And make sure your bedroom has proper ventilation”.
Lastly, he said “Reducing stress: Stress can take a toll on both your physical and mental health, so it’s important to find ways to relax. Try doing something you enjoy every day, like reading a book, taking a walk, or listening to music. Practice deep breathing or meditation to help you relax and focus on the present moment. And if you’re feeling overwhelmed, try to prioritize self-care and ask for help when you need it”.
