Gtbank, Zenith, UBA, GTB, Access Other Banks To Close All Branches for tomorrow, Give Reason
Commercial banks and other financial institutions are expected to close their branches across the country tomorrow, Wednesday, 12th June, 2024.
The closure is in observance of the public holiday announced by the federal government to mark Democracy Day. Customers are advised to use electronic banking channels for their transactions during this time.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government and congratulated Nigerians on the occasion.
A statement released by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, emphasized the importance of reflecting on the efforts of the country’s founding fathers to ensure Nigeria remains a united, secured, peaceful, and indivisible entity.
Commercial banks have been sending messages to their customers to inform them about the closure. The message states that all branches will be closed on Wednesday, 12th June 2024, with digital channels remaining available for banking needs. The banks will resume service on Thursday, 13th June 2024.
