Grajos Polytechnic conducts inaugural matriculation, student performance award presentation for 2023.

Grajos Polytechnic has conducted the matriculation of its newly admitted students to the school and presented a merit award for the 2023 student education and physical activities.

The ceremony took place on Thursday, 14th December, 2023. At the Next level event centre Meiran Road Lagos.

The specially recognized Present at the event are Hon. Ipoola Omisore(former member of Lagos State House of Assembly), Hon. Hammed Idowu Daniel Tijani, H.I.D,(executive chairman, ojokoro LCDA), Patrick Anegbe, the Managing Director of Intercontinental Dis­tillers Limited (IDL), The chairman of the ceremony.

The Rector, of Grajos Polytechnic, Dr. Olusoji Ajet-Ajetunmobi, takes the opening speech by giving all thanks to the almighty God, acknowledging the excellence and effective work done by the Academic staff and Non-academic staff of the institution, saying a welcomed all to all invitees in present and appreciate the parent of all there student.

According to him “We are a sanctified institution recognized by the federal government of Nigeria and accredited with relevant agencies to operate and by the grace of god we have graduated good numbers of students from this school which they are testimony around within and outside Nigeria”.

He explained further “As we 

are matriculating today we have some international students among you that are not here physically but are here virtually watching what we are doing today so it as cut across some borders, its as go beyond some boundaries”.

“In the year 2020 grajos birth a radio station which is an affiliate to the school to produce and execute people to improve their talent especially those who have called in the media field and which the standard has been a copy for some other schools to follow”.

“It is our prayer that we will not stop her we shall do more We have adopted moral and other skills to our curriculum to make it advanceable. It is in our programs every semester that every student must learn a hand work a skill that will prepare them for a competition and the challenge in the future”.

Hon. Ipoola Omisore, A former member of Lagos State House of Assembly. also, the guest speaker for the event speaks on the topic of making lemonades from lemons and achieving quality education in the face of harsh economic reality.

According to him”Today Nigeria we don’t lack professionals, but we lack professionals with no skill, we don’t lack graduates we have professors, doctors, and engineers that cannot even repair bridges, our roads are bad and they are all supervised by Nigeria engineers, but when you go to countries like Japan, China, Germany you will discover that they lay emphasis more on practical than theory accept in Nigeria here we are concern on theory most”.

“A man with a master’s degree in automobile engineering will be found on the road with his car broken down and looking for mechanics to come and help him. So today Grajos are not just building graduates they are building graduates that can solve problems”.

He processed that in Nigeria today there are many unemployed graduates who are qualified but are jobless.

“This Polytechnic is a professional and technical institution, people graduate with skills learned during the school program to face the world when the job has not come, so no graduate of this school which be looking for what to eat and that is the essence of education”.

All awardees were also granted cash as promised by the award presenter.
