Freshers’ cup commencement date, apology for the previous postponement

The office of the sports director Student Union government (S.U.G) D.S.ADEGBENRON I.C.T POLYTECHNIC announced the postponement of the commencement date for the “Freshers’ Cup 2024”.
The competition was scheduled to start on Wednesday 31st January 2024, but later postponed to 5th February 2024.

In a notice from the office of the sports director in charge of the sport and the competition, Comrade Moyosore Ademola A,  to Trendyngr he explained the reason for the postponement and made an apology for the decision taken.
According to the notice, “I extend my sincerest apologies for the postponement of the Fresher’s Cup, which was initially scheduled to take place on January 31st, 2024, We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding this event, and we share in your disappointment regarding the delay”
“The decision to postpone the Fresher’s Cup was not taken lightly. It was made in consideration of factors that may affect the academic session, ultimately prioritizing the educational pursuits of our students. As an institution, we recognize the paramount importance of attending classes and fulfilling academic responsibilities”
“The S.U.G and the Director of Sports are fully aware of the significance of academic engagement and stand by the principle that education comes first. While we acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the postponement, we assure you that it was a necessary step to ensure the overall well-being and academic success of our student body”
“We understand the passion and dedication of our sports community, and we remain committed to providing enriching opportunities for athletic participation. Rest assured, efforts have been made and we have rescheduled the Fresher’s Cup at the earliest suitable opportunity, allowing everyone to showcase their talent and sportsmanship”.
“Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and continued support”.
